Thomasville City Schools leaders and advocates gathered at the L4GA Data Summit held in Athens, Georgia, on June 27-28, 2019. Literacy for Learning, Living, and Leading in Georgia (L4GA) Grant funds were sub-granted to 38 districts through a state grant competition and are allocated for students in schools within a feeder system (including birth-age 5 childcare providers and elementary, middle, and high schools). In the spring of 2018, Thomasville City Schools was awarded a $1.14 million grant to improve literacy. L4GA Data Summit attendees networked with other grantees and refined the district and school literacy plans. Community survey results were presented that provided a clear indication that Thomasville City Schools have strong connections with the community.
