Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend and got some much needed rest! Last week was another busy week for Bulldog Athletics as all of our fall sports teams were in action. Volleyball started Area play with victories over Quitman County and Early County. After splitting a doubleheader with Fitzgerald on Thursday, softball improved to 5-1 in Region 1-AA play and remains in first place at this point of the season.  Cross County began their season on Thursday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. The middle school boys and girls team won first place, with Sadie Kate Scarbrough taking first place overall among female runners!!

Friday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium saw another classic South Georgia rivalry as the Dogs and the Syrupmakers battled it out for the coveted Syrup Pitcher. Trailing 21-0 late in the first half, the Dogs reeled off 26 unanswered points to defeat Cairo 26-21. Once again, the atmosphere was phenomenal with the Cheerleaders, Band, Red Hots, Diamond Dogs, and Dance Dawgs providing great energy from pregame to the final horn.

This upcoming week, softball will play 2 region doubleheaders, while volleyball is back in action with more area matches as well.

Friday night the Bainbridge Bearcats will come to town to take on the Bulldogs. This week's football game has been deemed a “Gold Out” to raise awareness for childhood cancer. More details will be sent out soon!

I hope everyone has a great week!!

Go Dogs!
