The THS swim team had a good showing at the meet in Coffee County over the weekend. The Middle School team competed on Friday with Nicholas Singley winning the 100 yard freestyle with an impressive time of 31.26 seconds. McCartney Bell finished 1st overall in the girls 100 yard freestyle. On the varsity team Lewis Stringfellow won the 50 yard free and the 100 yard backstroke. Lewis qualified for state with his times in both of these events. Also for the boys, Jensen Rahn placed 2nd overall in the 500 freestyle (20 Laps) with a time of 5:37. I would also like to give a big thank you and congratulations to everyone that made Friday night an awesome event. The Cheerleaders, Band, Red Hots, Dance Dogs, Diamond Dogs, and AFJROTC began the night with our pregame festivities and set the tone for what was to be a special night. The atmosphere around Veterans Memorial was unbelievable as the crowd arrived early and brought the energy all night! On the field, the Thomasville Bulldogs football team defeated the Callaway Cavaliers by a score of 31-6 to reach the GHSA AA State Championship game that will be played Friday at noon at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta. This marks the first time since 1993 that the Bulldogs will play in the State Championship.
