𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 🐾 Congratulations to Azelea Bowdry, a Junior at Thomasville High School, for being selected to serve on the 2023 Georgia School Board Association Youth Advisory Council.
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) was formed by the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) to give high school students the opportunity to provide meaningful input to school board members. YAC members will have the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and contribute to their community by affecting positive change for students across Georgia. Not only will these discussions impact the lives of other students, but it will also provided valuable knowledge for public education leaders throughout the state. Topics that the students will be exploring include: school climate and safety, social and emotional needs of today’s students, college and career opportunities, and much more. The goal of the feedback is to help aid school board members in their decision making and implementation processes.
The YAC Committee is comprised of GSBA staff and will serve as a resource to students enrolled in the program. Through this program, we hope that students and school board members can achieve greater awareness regarding academic programs and school climate.

🎓 🔶Exciting news from our high school! 🌟 Some of our incredible teachers, coaches and administrators have just completed specialized training on Restorative Practices with Dr. Charles Flowers, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture. 🙌✨ This approach encourages empathy, accountability, and healing among our students and families, fostering stronger relationships, a decrease in loss of instructional time and resolving conflicts peacefully. 🤝🐾We're thrilled to embark on this restorative journey together! 🚀♦️ #RestorativePractices #StrongerTogether #EmpathyMatters

Students attending classes on Scholars Campus please make sure you know where you can park!
Attached is a map with explanations on parking for the 2023-2024 school year. Due to construction, students will NOT be able to park in the normal parking lot on the home side of Veterans Memorial Stadium. Students are asked to park in the 2 rows closest to Veterans Memorial in the lot on the visitors side.
Gates will be open to the stadium where students can cross through and come out on the home side. Students will then need to walk in front of MacIntyre Park Middle School to access the Scholars buildings, as the grass area will be fenced off as well.
Scholars Academy and MPMS teachers will be parking in along Glenwood and in the parking area in front of MPMS. No Students are allowed to park in these places.
Students are asked to not park in the Center for the Arts parking area off of Washington Street.
Thank you all for understanding as we begin an exciting stage in the history of the Thomasville City Schools!
